Dombey and Son (6th Dec 22 at 1:17am UTC)
He staggered to his chair. He felt her draw his arm round her neck; he felt her draw her own arm round his neck; he felt her kiss on his cheek; he felt the wet cheek of her against his own; and he felt what he had done in the past-oh, how profoundly he had felt it! She drew his face, now covered with his hands, to the breast he had hurt, close to the heart he had almost torn, and sobbed: Father, my dear, I have become a mother. I have a child, and he will soon call Walter as I call you. When he was born, when I knew how much I loved him, I knew what I had done since I left you. Please forgive me, dear father! Ah, you say, let God bless me and my little child! If he can say it, he will. He would have raised his hands to beg her forgiveness, but she grasped them in her hands and hurriedly put them down. My baby was born at sea, Dad. I asked God to keep me alive (and Walter prayed for me) so that I could go home. As soon as I landed, I came back to you. Let us never part again, father! His now gray head was wrapped in her arm; he groaned to think that it had never been on her arm before. You will come with me to my house, father, to see my little baby. He's a boy, Dad. His name is Paul. I think — I hope — He's like- "" Tears made her unable to speak. Dear father, for the sake of my child, polyfoil tube, for the sake of the name we have given him, for my sake, please forgive Walter. He is so gentle and kind to me. How happy I am with him. It's not his fault that we got married. It's my fault. How I love him. She hugged him more tightly, more affectionately, more enthusiastically. He is the one I love most. I would die for him. He will love and honor you as I do. We will teach our little one to love and honor you, and when he is able to understand, we will tell him that you once had a son who shared his name, and that when he died, you were very sad; but he is gone to heaven, tube lip gloss, and when the day comes for us to rest, we all hope to see him there. Kiss me, Papa, by which you promise to be reconciled to Walter, to my dearest husband, to the child's father; he brought me back, Papa, he brought me back! He kissed her on the lips, lifted his eyes, and said, "O my God, please forgive me, for I need your forgiveness so much!" With these words he bent his head again, and wailed and caressed her; and for a long time there was nothing in the house; and they clung together in each other's arms in the bright sunshine that stole in with Florence. He willingly obeyed, dressed, and prepared to go out; then, plastic packing tube ,empty cosmetic tubes, with a feeble step and a shiver, he looked back at the room in which he had long shut himself up, and in which he had seen the picture in the mirror, and went out with her into the anteroom. Florence hardly looked round, for she feared it would cause him to recall distinctly the scene of their last parting-for their feet were on the slate on which he had struck her in his madness-; she was close to him, with her eyes on his face, and his arm round her; and she led him out into a carriage which was waiting at the door, and which drew him away. At that moment Miss Tox and Polly came out of their hiding place, and shed tears of joy. Then they tied up his clothes, books, and the like, very carefully, and handed them in time to some of the men whom Florence had sent to collect them in the evening. Then they drank their last cup of tea in the lonely house.
'So, Polly, as I once said on a sad occasion, 'said Miss Tox, after concluding her many recollections,' Dombey and Son are really Dombey and Daughter after all. ' "A very good daughter!" Exclaimed Polly. 'You're Right, 'said Miss Tox.' It's a credit to you, Polly; you were often her friend when she was a child, and you were her friend long before I was her friend, 'said Miss Tox.' You're a good fellow. Robin! Miss Tox turned to a round-headed young man, who was sitting in a distant corner, looking ill and in low spirits. When he stood up, the figure and face of the grinder were revealed. 'Robin, 'said Miss Tox,' I have been telling your mother, as you may have heard, that she is a good person. ' "She certainly is, miss," said the Grinder, with some feeling. Very well, Robin, 'said Miss Tox,' I am glad to hear that. And now, Robin, at your insistent request, I am going to give you a test and make you my servant, in order that you may be restored to your good conduct and that people will respect you; and for this reason I will take this memorable opportunity to make a comment: I hope you will never forget that you have, and have always had, a good mother; You will try to be a good person and make yourself a comfort to your mother. "I swear on my soul that I will try to do it, miss," replied the Grinder. "I have experienced many things; my heart is now as good as a young man's —" 'If You please, Robin, I'd like you to change that word, 'interrupted Miss Tox politely.' Is it all right to say so, miss, like a little fellow so- ' 'Thank You, Robin, not so, 'returned Miss Tox.' I think it's better to speak of a person. ' "As good as a man is,pump tube," said the grinder. 'That's Much better, 'said Miss Tox, with satisfaction.' It's much more expressive. ' 。 emptycosmetictubes.com
